Below are the approaches Neemo proposes for building the ASTR token LST called nsASTR. Each approach has distinct release phases or milestones. Changes in the approach will impact the technical implications. Neemo will collaborate with the Astar team to select one of these approaches and proceed with development accordingly.

Approach 1 : Launch LST on Astar EVM first, then launch on Sony chain and Astar zkEVM

In this approach, Neemo proposes to build liquid staking on the base Astar L1 first and subsequently release it on other chains within the Astar ecosystem. This approach will be implemented in five phases.

  1. nsASTR on Astar EVM

  2. Native staking of ASTR token on zkEVM

  3. Vamp attack on Algem

  4. Native staking of ASTR token on Sony

  5. Leveraged Staking, ETH LST, etc (~ TBD)

Approach 2: Launch LST on Astar zkEVM first, then on Sony chain, and if necessary, on Astar EVM

In this approach, Neemo skips the development of LST on the base Astar EVM and directly releases it on Astar zkEVM, followed by the Sony chain. This change means the base Astar EVM will not have the underlying LST infrastructure required to support native staking on L2, necessitating the implementation of a different architecture.

  3. Native staking of ASTR token on Sony

  4. Leveraged Staking, ETH lst, etc (~ TBD)

Approach 3 : Launch LST on Sony chain first, then on Astar zkEVM, and if necessary, on Astar EVM

In this approach, Neemo develops native ASTAR staking directly on the Sony chain, while awaiting further developments on the chain itself to inform Neemo's future build plans.
